At 3:32 PM, our department was alerted for a yard on fire to the rear of a property on the 300 block of Church Street. The caller reported a 6' x 6' area on fire, rapidly spreading with trees right next to the flames.

Rescue 65 and Chief 65 responded to the incident. Firefighters stretched a 1 & ¾" hose line via a property on Church Street. A section of wood fence which was on fire was knocked down to fully access the fire.

Phoenixville Police requested Fire police assist with closing the street. Kimberton Fire Company and Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Co. aided with traffic control.

Crews cleared the scene in just under a half hour. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is accidental.
