At 4:48 PM, our department and first-alarm mutual aid companies were alerted for a possible house fire on S. Phoenix Drive in Caribou Village. A neighbor reported that a light fixture on the exterior of the garage was on fire and spreading to mulch in the landscaping below.

Engine, Ladder, Utility 65-1 and MICU 65-1 responded to the incident. Crews arrived on location to find a neighbor had used a fire extinguisher to douse the fire. No one was home at the time. Firefighters attempted to locate an unlocked door or window so they could enter the house to check if any fire had extended to the interior - but all were locked. A friend of the family arrived on location with a key allowing for entry without causing any damage. Firefighters turned off the circuit breaker to the fixture and confirmed the fire had not extended.
