Dan D'Ginto has successfully completed Essentials of Firefighting (Firefighter 1) training at the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety Fire Academy. Dan graduated last night along with 29 other recruits of class 2402.

Firefighter 1 is a 188-hour entry-level national certification course our firefighters must complete before they may fight fire inside a burning structure. In addition to learning the science and behavior of fire and various methods of fire suppression, recruits are also certified in hazardous materials operations, CPR and first aid.

Dan moved to Phoenixville two years ago and joined our department as a volunteer in the fall of 2023. Dan was previously active with the Lionville Fire Company. Congratulations Dan and thank you for choosing to serve your community!

Your Phoenixville Fire Department is a 'combination' department which means our team is a mix of paid and volunteer firefighters. We are always looking for new volunteers to serve as firefighters, fire police, medical responders or administration. If you are interested and have the time to commit to your community, click on 'Volunteer' on the menu to the left.
