The Captain of our Phoenixville Special Fire Police, Charles Snook, has retired after 31 years of service. Charles was honored during our December members’ meeting, where he was presented with a plaque commemorating his service and a certificate of recognition from Mayor Peter Urscheler. Charles was promoted to Captain of the Special Fire Police in 2023, following the retirement of Charlie Palmer. He previously served as the fire police lieutenant. Barry Taglieber has recently been promoted to serve as the new Fire Police Captain. Special Fire Police are members of the fire company and swear an oath to serve their local municipality. They operate under the authority of state code and both the Fire and Police Chiefs. Special Fire Police assist with crowd control and directing traffic around emergency incidents and community events. If you are interested in volunteering your time to join our Special Fire Police team, please click on "Volunteer" in the navigation menu of this site. Thank you, Charles, for your dedicated service! We would also like to thank member Jean Sullivan for donating our delicious holiday buffet dinner from Luciano's Pizzeria & Ristorante. |
