At 8:05 PM, our department, TowerDirect EMS and the Chester County Rescue Task Force - Structural Collapse Team were alerted for a crash with a vehicle into the building at the Mansion House. The caller reported some of the structure was starting to collapse.

Rescue, MICU, Ladder, Utility, Chief, and Assistant Chief 65A responded on the assignment. Firefighters arrived to find a vehicle had crashed into the building with damage to two of the porch support beams. The occupant was uninjured and already out of the vehicle. Ladder 65 was quickly released from the scene.

Firefighters used metal shoring struts and lumber to stabilize the second-floor porch and roof while the vehicle was removed by Abel Brother's Towing. The collapse team then built two temporary support structures to remain in place until repairs can be made by building management. Crews checked the interior of the first and second floors to ensure there was no other structural damage - which there was none. Access to the second-floor porch was closed-off.

Fire Police assisted with the partial closure of Bridge Street during this incident.

Emergency crews cleared the scene a little after two hours.
