Eamon C. Brazunas was appointed as Chief of Fire & Emergency Services on January 4, 2022. Brazunas began his public safety career with the Berwyn Fire Company in Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1998. During his volunteer tenure he served in various capacities, including Fire Chief for 8 years. 

Prior to coming to Phoenixville, Brazunas worked full-time as Executive Director with the Radnor Fire Company in Delaware County, Pennsylvania for nearly 14 years. During this time he was key part of the leadership team that established a new Advanced Life Support program in 2011. This lifesaving program continues to serve a population of 35,416 between two municipalities. He developed a long-term capital apparatus replacement plan that reduced the fleet size and also worked closely with municipal staff and elected leaders to increase funding to keep pace with increasing expenses. 

Brazunas received a B.A. in Advertising/Public Relations and Minor in Political Science from the Pennsylvania State University and holds a Masters of Public Administration degree from Anna Maria College. In addition, he is a graduate of the United States Fire Administration Executive Fire Officer Program and is designated by the Center for Public Safety Excellence - Commission on Professional Credentialing as a Chief Fire Officer.

Brazunas has been certified as a Blue Card Incident Commander and has developed numerous Incident Action Plans over his 25-year career. He is a charter member of the Chester County Incident Support Team and also has past experience with the Philipsburg Fire Department (Centre County, PA), and Manheim Township Fire-Rescue - Eden Station (Lancaster County, PA).

Brazunas is a longtime Chester County resident and is married with two daughters. His father and two brothers have also served as volunteer fire/EMS providers.
