At 11:24 AM, our department and TowerDirect were notified for a vehicle crash on Nutt Road (Route 23) at the intersection with Manavon Street (Route 29) and Main Street. The caller reported two vehicles were involved and one of the vehicles hit the Carter's Automotive Building.
Chief, Rescue and MICU 65-1 responded to the incident. Chief 65 arrived to confirm that an SUV and box truck were involved in the initial crash and then a car and a trailer were struck with the car being slammed into the building. Chief 65 requested three additional ambulances to the scene. Personnel assisted with removal of two occupants from the box truck. Four occupants were transported to Phoenixville Hospital. There were no injuries to pedestrians or anyone in the building. Firefighters assisted with removal of debris and fluids from the roadway and remained on scene until the vehicles were removed.
Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Co. assisted with traffic control and West End Fire Company EMS assisted with patient care and transport. Code Enforcement was on scene to assist with determining the severity of damage to the building. The last remaining crews cleared the scene after an hour. |
