At 3:13 AM, our department was alerted for a vehicle crash on the 500 block of Bridge Street (Route 113). The caller reported a vehicle hit a utility pole, with wires arcing.

Deputy Chief, Rescue and MICU 65-2 responded to the incident. Firefighters arrived to find a single vehicle crash with a snapped utility pole and numerous wires down. The driver, who was able to get out of the vehicle on their own, was evaluated by medical personnel but declined further treatment. There were no other occupants in the vehicle. PECO was notified for the damaged pole and wires.

Fire crews cleared the scene after about 25 minutes. The roadway remained closed for several hours while utility repairs were completed.
