The past couple weeks, our firefighters participated in an Elevator Rescue Emergencies Course. As part of this training, we visited a few locations around town to practice working with elevators of various types and lifting mechanisms. The course primarily covers the safe handling of a malfunctioning elevator and carefully removing any confined occupants. The knowledge gained from this training opportunity will allow our personnel to more quickly and efficiently manage elevator emergencies.
