At 05:21 AM, our department was alerted for Ladder 65 to respond as part of a relief group from Chester County to assist Abington Township Fire Department on a multi-alarm fire at a massive industrial facility. The location of the fire was the SPS Technologies on Highland Avenue in Abington Township, Montgomery County.

A crew with Ladder 65-1 responded to the incident. The initial assignment for our ladder was to setup an aerial master stream on Side A of the building. Later, our aerial master stream was shut down and our crew was requested to assist with deploying several portable master streams inside the building, also form Side A. Our crew repositioned to Side D for a period of time as conditions deteriorated on that side of the building. Our crew cleared the scene after about 8 hours.

Chester County Department of Emergency Services Hazardous Materials Response Team and West Whiteland Fire Company also sent crews as part of this early morning group from Chester County.

Units: Ladder 65-1
